old sharpening stones are one of my favorite finds. Their imperfect color and broken edges speak to a rich history as working tools and make them ideal for my work.

broadly speaking, totems are objects that have spiritual significance. In my work I use the term for much of my 3-dimensional work. Using reclaimed wood, stone and metal, the materials are reborn into something else.
